I. Definition and Core Functions

A medium-frequency power supply is a power electronic device that converts power frequency alternating current (typically 50Hz or 60Hz) into medium-frequency alternating current (generally in the frequency range of 100Hz to 10kHz). Its core function is to provide electrical energy of a specific frequency to industrial production, medical equipment, scientific research, and other fields through rectification, filtering, and inversion, meeting the special needs of different scenarios for power frequency.

II. Working Principle and Composition Structure

Basic Principle

Rectification stage: Converts power frequency alternating current into direct current using a diode or thyristor rectifier.

Filtering stage: Uses capacitors or inductors to filter the direct current, reducing ripple and making it smoother.

Inversion stage: Inverts direct current into alternating current of the required frequency using power devices (such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, etc.), with the frequency adjusted by the control circuit.

Main Components

Rectifier: Commonly uses a three-phase bridge rectifier circuit to convert alternating current to direct current.

Inverter: The core component, achieving frequency conversion through the on-off control of switching devices.

Control circuit: Uses digital signal processing (DSP) or PLC technology to precisely adjust the output frequency, voltage, and power.
