Layout Requirements for Medium-Frequency Induction Furnace Facilities
1. The medium-frequency power supply and the compensation capacitor cabinet should be adequately isolated from the melting furnace to prevent high temperatures, moisture, dust, and corrosive gases from damaging the medium-frequency power supply and capacitors, thereby reducing equipment failures and extending the service life of the equipment.
2. The connecting cable between the medium-frequency induction furnace’s melting chamber and the compensation capacitor cabinet should be as short as possible to minimize losses and improve the equipment’s electrical efficiency.
3. The busbar support of the medium-frequency induction furnace must not form a closed circuit to prevent the generation of medium-frequency induced currents during operation, which could cause the support to heat up.
4. Since many components and devices in medium-frequency equipment are water-cooled, water leakage is inevitable; therefore, a robust and reliable drainage and ventilation system is required.
5. The workshop and the medium-frequency power supply must be both isolated from each other and interconnected, enabling operators to monitor the equipment’s operating status at all times.
